David E. Knight
Executive Vice President - Marketing
Mr. Knight was born in Lamont, Florida the son of David C. Knight of Madison County, Florida & Ruby Lee Knight of Eastman, Georgia. Mr. Knight attended Public schools in Polk County, Florida. He attended the University of South Florida. In his late teens Mr. Knight discovered his love for construction working on commercial and institutional projects in central and costal Florida.
Prior to joining Benning Construction Company, Mr., Knight worked for Galen Kilburn Company, Atlanta, Georgia, 3/7/89 to 11/1/89 as director of construction. He also worked for the firms of Ed Taylor Construction Company, Atlanta, Georgia, Pace Construction Company, Atlanta, Georgia, Stratton & Company, Atlanta, Georgia, and Warrior Construction, Atlanta, Georgia.
Mr. Knight joined Benning Consruction Company as a Project Manager in 1992. He has worked through the ranks beginning as a Project Manager and progressing to his current position of Executive Vice President. His responsibilities have included conceptual estimating, estimating, budget development, relationships with Owners and Architects, scheduling negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers, project subcontracts and purchase orders and change orders, quality and cost control.
